Multi-Vehicle Crash Route 47 MP 15.5

GOSHEN -- Middle Township police and rescue units en route to multi-vehicle accident on Route 47 at milepost 15.5 Saturday, Nov. 29 about 2:50 p.m.

Calls for three medevac helicopters but two were recalled.

It's not the road, the road has been there for many years. It's the people who drive recklessly and who are not paying attention and talking on cell phones that are the problem. I've lived on Rt 47 my whole life and have seen many "near misses" due to people passing on double lines and on bends. So it's not the roads fault.

2 more accidents on 47 since last week; truck flipped in port elizbeth;pole snapped in half in south dennis;and that only what I saw personally;47 isnt a problem though ,right?

to the *** who thinks there is nothing wrong with 47:it used to be an indian trail that is why it is so winding. It is way overused and needs to be replaced by an extended 55 in some areas.HOW CAN YOU SAY THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE ROAD WHEN SO MANY PEOPLE ARE KILLED ON IT

There is nothing wrong with the road. Only drivers can make it safer, and, unfortuneately, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

A few years ago I lost my mother in law to an accident on rt 47. Since then there have been more deaths and accidents than can be counted. My question is where are the police on this road. It is a state road yet no state police, no sheriffs dept, or how about a dot safety blitz on the hundreds of trucks which use this road daily. The road is outdated and it should not fall to only middle township to patrol it. Declare it a safe highway and double the fines. All police depts through which this highway to hell run should get together and blitz it. Oh yeah to those of you who drink and drive and cause accidents on this road. your lic. should be taken away permanently

Every time we hear emergency rescue heading to Rt. 47 we pray. It seems there is always tragedy on that road. What's the rush?
