Motorcyclist Flees on Foot After Crash

SEAVILLE -- State Police are looking for the rider of a black Kawasaki motorcycle that left the scene after rear-ending a sport-utility vehicle here on Route 50 in front of the Seaville Fire Station on Monday, Nov. 24 around 5:35 p.m.

Shannon Lewis, 38, of Belleplain was traveling east on Route 50 when she observed the motorcycle’s light in her rear view mirror as the cyclist lost control and crashed.

The operator of the motorcycle was propelled under Lewis’ Nissan SUV and struck the spare tire, according to Lewis.

The motorcycle’s male operator then got up and ran with only one shoe remaining and a torn shirt in the direction of Seaville Tavern were the driver may have been picked up by a red truck, according to Lewis

The black Kawasaki did not have license plates. It was abandoned in the east bound lane.

The Seaville Fire Department, Upper Township Rescue Squad and Medic 3 all responded to the scene and then were recalled when it was learned the motorcyclist fled. Lewis was uninjured.

The accident is under investigation by Trooper Haydok of the Woodbine Station.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or knows the identity of the motorcycle rider is asked to call Trooper Haydok at 861-5698.
