To the person commenting on Sunday Hunting:
Obviously your opinion on the jepordy of your so called danger on Sundays is shadowed by your protest of the sport alone. This incident didnt happen on Sunday so get your story straight nor has nothing to do whatsoever with Sunday hunting let alone your ignorance of using an accident where someone was seriosly hurt to prove your point. You comment of financial crisis in the state? hunting is a substantial source of revenue for the state of New Jersey, we are one of the most expensive states in the country to annually hunt in, profits from hunting in the state benefit complainers like you who dont check the facts before ranting on an issue. Revenue from the sport is divided up amoung many departments in the state to fund things other then hunting. Hunting interest groups in the area promote conservation and protection of habitat. How many trashhunts have you done this year with your recreational army? How much money do you spend for a permit to stand in the road like you own it to watch birds? or to geocache and leave things in the woods? The only thing that is armed and dangerous about this issue is your incoherent lack of validity in your complaint. Maybe you will be happy when it will cost money to hike, kayak, birdwatch, bicycle in state parks, etc get over yourself.

Hey, accidents happen no matter how careful one can be.
If people want to hunt, then let them. More power to them!

This is an example of the stupid hunters that Van Drew wants to be in the woods on Sundays when the rest of the NJ residents are enjoying their non-hunting recreational activities. This clown didn't even care about his own safety and Van Drew expects these *** to care about ours when they're armed with dangerous bow and arrows? Van Drew and all the other *** representatives that voted for the bill that allows Sunday hunting need to be voted out for wasting their valuable time with this issue when there are higher priority concerns in NJ. Hey Van Drew, have you heard there's a financial crisis in NJ? How about spending some time on alleviating the misery of the MAJORITY of NJ residents rather than worrying about the MINORITY of bow and arrow hunters and the users of the Beesley Point bridge!

Yes, please use the harness. This hunter is fortunate to be alive. We don't know the story, but I wouldn't be surpirised to learn that he fell while climbing or descending. That's the most dangerous part and also it is difficult to wear the harness at that point. Please be careful as you enjoy God's creation.
Easier? Who cares what is easier? I don't live my life by what is easier. It is easier to sit in a padded room doing nothing all day.

It's a hobby and you cant buy deer meat at the local supermarket. But yes, safety precautions should always be taken!

I guess going to the store and buying meat would have been an easier option?

To all the hunters out there. please use the safety strap that comes with your tree stand!!! It may not be cool but there are too many injuries that could be prevented from using that simple strap.
