COURT HOUSE — Following an extremely close race for Middle Township Committee, Republican challenger Daniel Lockwood appears to have decided against challenging the municipal election.
"After carefully reviewing all of the issues pertaining to the election results and the process of challenging them, Republican candidate Dan Lockwood is leaning toward forgoing a recount or formal contest," according to a release.
Lockwood lost to incumbent Mayor F. Nathan Doughty by a mere 86-vote margin.
Lockwood planned to address the press and public with complete details as to his decision on the steps of the county library's main branch at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13.
Lockwood's showing this year was the best for a GOP candidate since 2001 when Barbara Tomalino lost to Susan DeLanzo by only 39 votes.

Too bad, with machine broken in several locations and lots of provisional ballots incorrect, it would probably have ended closer than that or Dan would have won. Hope he will run again next year.
