COLD SPRING — Lower Township police reopened Ocean Drive at 1:25 p.m. Nov. 7 after a fire at Lund's Fisheries, 997 Ocean Drive, reported about 12:15 p.m. was extinguished. That fire was confined largely to the roof the processing plant.
When first units arrived, they reported thick smoke showing. Many of those in the surrounding buildings were unaware there was a fire, according to a police radio report.
All personnel were reported out of the structure, according to police radio reports.
Other Lower Township firefighters and rescue units were on scene.
Some local fire companies either responded to, or moved equipment into neighboring firehouses for cover assignments. The Cape May County Fire Marshal's Office was notified.
Police shut down traffic on Ocean Drive at the Garden State Parkway and Wildwood Crest Police closed traffic on their side of the bridge at the height of the activity.

Let's get this right. The fire was contained to the fish sorting room on the second floor. The room was completely destroyed by the fire. Units on scene were Erma,Town Bank,Villas,USCGFD,Cape May and Rio Grande Fire. Green Creek and West Cape May Fire provided station coverage. Lower Township Rescue was the rehab unit. These are the facts for all reading this mumbo jumbo!! Maybe The Press of AC should get lessons from The Herald on how to get the news, they didn't even have a story in today's paper!!!!!!!!
