TRENTON -- Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells reminds all eligible New Jersey residents of the Oct. 14 deadline to register to vote in the November 4 general election.
For in-person registration, a detailed list of state Superintendents/Commissioners of Registration, their location, as well as information on extended evening hours for Oct. 14 can be found at the Division of Elections website, www.NJElections.org
For those wishing to register by mail, registration forms, in several languages, can be downloaded from the Division’s website. Registration forms are available by county of residence and conveniently pre-addressed for mailing. These applications may be mailed up and through October 14; all applications postmarked by that date will be accepted. It is important to note, however, that faxed applications cannot be accepted, as an original signature is required by law.
“We have witnessed an extraordinary amount of new registrations this year, beginning with the primary in February to this moment,” noted Secretary Wells. “We now have over 5.1 million citizens registered, some 330,000 more than the last general election. It’s important to remind those who are eligible but still unregistered that their last chance to do so is October 14.”
For further information on the Oct. 14 registration deadline, and for other information on all statewide election matters in New Jersey, visit www.NJElections.org., or call 877-NJVOTER. Registration forms are also available at the Commissioners of Registration office in every county, as well as at Division of Motor Vehicle offices.
