WEST WILDWOOD — The borough’s monthly commission meeting will is rescheduled for Tuesday Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. after the original meeting date was canceled when a resident was allegedly the recipient of a threat of a terroristic nature.

Mayor Herbert C. Frederick announced that the meeting had been postponed in the “interest of public safety” when he said a resident received threats, on a public blog, that if the meeting was to continue as planned, there would be an intentional disruption of public assembly and more tires will be slashed.

Frederick is requesting that the West Wildwood Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, investigate the threats of terrorism.

To maintain public safety, Frederick said that police protection, both inside and out of the meeting hall, will be available at all future public meetings.

Since Mr. Frederick decided to fire a Class II officer, and another police officer quit because of his bad administration, we are short handed and our police officers are stressed to the MAX. The Cape May County Prosecutor's office was brought in by Mr. Frederick to oversee the Police Department. After their review, their recommendation was to hire 2 full-time police officers. HE IGNORED their recommendations and decided to try and hire a temporary "Director of Public Safety(his job as Mayor)" Why do we need someone to push papers for $300 a day? What is he going to do?
We as residents need to know what is going on! WE NEED TO BE AT THIS MEETING! I heard we are supposed to have representation by local newspapers to hear what is going on in OUR community, NOT just what Mr. Frederick wants you to hear. Obviously he is hiding something and does not want US to know about it! HE MUST BE HIDING SOMETHING!!! He has to STOP spending OUR MONEY! He was supposed to save us money! I'm not seeing any savings after what I heard at the meeting on October 3rd. Thank you Mr. Golden for bringing up some information that we were not aware of! I think I'm going to do some investigation myself!!! I didn't know we could do OPRA(Open Public Records Act) requests for that information!
