Lower Township Police Handle 107 Calls Per Day Last Week

ERMA — During the week of Sept. 28 through Oct. 4, Lower Township Police responded to and/or initiated 753 calls for service averaging over 107 calls per day.

The following is a brief rundown of calls for service and reported incidents that police responded to during the week.

Sept. 28:

Narcotics Arrest: 12:41 am Wildwood Ave., Villas, possession of CDS, charges filed.
Criminal Mischief: 12:52 am Bayshore Rd., N.C.M., damage done to a fence.
Disorderly Conduct: 3:54 am Hughes Ave., N.C.M., disagreement between two subjects.
Disorderly Conduct: 4:37 am Hughes Ave., N.C.M., disagreement between two subjects.
Burglary: 6:54 am Canterbury Way, Cold Spring, residence entered, charges filed.
Theft: 8:02 am Chatam Dr., Cold Spring, theft from motor vehicle.
Theft: 8:45 am Canterbury Way, Cold Spring, theft from motor vehicle, charges filed.
Theft: 9:01 am Chestnut La., Erma, theft from motor vehicle.
Disorderly Conduct: E. Weber Ave. 11:36 am, disagreement between two subjects.
Disorderly Conduct: 4:06 pm Beach Dr., N.C.M., subjects having sex in their vehicle.
Theft: 4:27 pm Locust Rd., Villas, theft of mini blue street bike.
Burglary: 4:53 pm E. Weber Ave., Villas, residence entered, charges filed.
Rescue Call: 7:55 pm Marshall Ave., Fishing Creek, Police & Rescue responded for unconscious subject.

Sept. 29:

Arson: 12:02 am Shawmount Ave., Villas, building set on fire.
Disorderly Conduct: 1:05 am Bridal Path, Erma, disagreement with a family member.
Disorderly Conduct: 8:46 am Route 9, Erma, two subjects being disorderly.
Warrant Arrest: 11:01 am Baywood Dr., N.C.M., subject released on bail with a court date.
Harassment: 1:51 pm Bayshore Rd., N.C.M., victim being harassed, charges filed.
Rescue Call: 2:41 pm Seashore Rd., Erma, Police & Rescue responded for unconscious subject.
Harassment: 3:48 pm Edna Ave., Villas, victim being harassed.
Rescue Call: 3:54 pm Breakwater Pl., N.C.M., Police & Rescue responded for subject who took to much medication.
Rescue Call: 5:30 pm Desoto Ave. Villas, Police & Rescue responded for a fall victim.
Trespassing: 5:34 pm Shawmount Ave., Villas, subjects on private property.
Fire Call: 5:54 pm E. Greenwood Ave., Villas, stove fire, Police & Villas Fire responded.
Attempted Suicide: Evergreen Ave., Villas, subject took a bottle of pills.
Fire Call: 6:49 pm Shawmount Ave., Villas, smoke in the area, Police & Villas Fire responded.
Assault: 8:00 pm Gleencreek Rd., Town Bank, subject assaulted, charges filed.
Domestic Violence: 10:45 pm Bayshore Rd., N.C.M., subject assaulted, charges filed.
Criminal Mischief: 10:49 pm Bayshore Rd., N.C.M., damage done to a motor vehicle.
Disorderly Conduct: 11:11 pm Bayshore Rd., Villas, two subjects arguing.
Disorderly Conduct: 11:21 pm Orchard Dr., N.C.M., two family members arguing.

Sept. 30:

Disorderly Conduct: 1:43 am Rose Hill Pkwy, N.C.M., someone throwing something at their bedroom window.
Warrant Arrest: 3:00 am Route 47, Shawcrest, 8 warrants, subject taken to County Jail.
Disorderly Conduct: 4:28 am W. New York Ave., Villas, husband and wife arguing.
Rescue Call: 9:31 am Seashore Rd., Erma, Police & Rescue responded for chest pains.
Disorderly Conduct: 1:37 pm Village Rd., Villas, two family members arguing.
Burglary: 2:41 pm Roseanne Ave., N.C.M., residence entered, items taken.
Warrant Arrest: 2:44 pm W. Florida Ave., Villas, subject taken to County Jail.
Burglary: 3:13 pm Roseanne Ave., N.C.M., residence entered, items taken.
Disorderly Conduct: 4:23 pm Wildwood Ave., Villas, landlord tenant dispute.
Disorderly Conduct: 5:26 pm Route 9, Erma, dispute between two females.
Harassment: 7:27 pm W. Pacific Ave., Villas, victim being harassed.
Drunk Driver Arrested: 9:41 pm Cresse La., Erma, subject given a court date.

Warrant Arrest: 10:26 am Breakwater Rd., Erma, subject released on bail with a court date.
Fire Call: 11:16 am E. Memphis Ave., Diamond Beach, gas odor, Police & Erma Fire responded.
Warrant Arrest: 11:54 am Atlantic Ave. Diamond Beach, subject taken to County Jail.
Burglary: 12:58 pm Maple Rd., Villas, residence entered, items taken.
Disorderly Conduct: 4:24 pm Hollywood Ave., Villas, juveniles running through yards.
Fire Call: 5:34 pm Tecumseh Rd., Erma, fire alarm, Police & Erma Fire responded.
Disorderly Conduct: 7:30 pm Bayshore Rd., Villas, juveniles causing a disturbance.
Disorderly Conduct: 9:45 pm Bayshore Rd., N.C.M., intoxicated subject being disorderly.
Theft: 9:51 pm Bayshore Rd., N.C.M., theft of twenty dollars.
Disorderly Conduct: 10:53 pm Brookdale Rd., Town Bank, subject yelling & broke a mailbox.

Theft: 10:47 am New England Rd., Cold Spring, theft of 2 harger bus bars made of solid copper.

Attempted Suicide: 4:16 pm E. Florida Ave., Villas, Subject took bottle of pills.
Rescue Call: 3:11 pm Seashore Rd., Erma, Police & Rescue responded for a seizure.
Harassment: 8:05 pm Briarwood Dr., Erma, victim receiving harassing phone calls.

Warrant Arrest: 10:33 pm E. Greenwood Ave., Villas, subject released on bail with a court date.

Wow, 10/09/2008 1:04 pm, you apparently didn't do to well in statistics or any general math in that case. The same number of INCIDENTS will still be the same ***. Its people like you that makes this town a *** hole that it is, and god bless the police officers that try to make it better. It has been said before when you get hurt or your at gun point and only one officer comes and he/she, heaven for bid, gets hurt, and is uncapable of protecting you, re-read your comment if you have time that is because you will probably end up dead... you will be wishing there was a second or third officer there...

I for one do not care how many cops respond to the calls.I want these officers to go home safe everyday.If I call them for an emergency I want them all to come to my emergency and would look at it the other way why didnt they all come.Lets just appreciate what they do for us.I dont understand the LTTA they keep looking at cutting the police dept.My taxes are not greatly affected by the police dept.They go more to a stumbling education system this township has.There should be more of your focus on the the school systems my taxes are high because I pay for five schools in the township.Add up your principals and asst principals(all) in this township.Now do your number magic against the PD.Where are you getting more bang for your buck,right thought so.Change the focus..I am not a police officer or related to one just lived in town for over 35 yrs..

How is the Number of incidents greatly reduced....? The number of incidents is the number of incidents. And 3 police Officer's DO NOT respond to every Call.

Sometimes your lucky if you have 5 officer's working per shift to cover the whole twp.
1 for the Villas, 1 for North Cape May, 1 for Erma, Diamond Beach and south of the canal
and 2 back up officer's while officer's are out on Vacatio, Sick, injured or training and that includes Class II Officer's.

If you divide the number of calls by 3 to represent the minimum number of LTPD personnel responding to any call, the number of INCIDENTS is greatly reduced. This report makes it seem like we really do need all those police personnel. Statistics can be manipulated to state whatever the message needs to be.
