ATLANTIC CITY — The Coast Guard medevaced a 60-year-old male Wednesday from a cruise ship 60 miles east of here.

The Coast Guard received a call at 11:14 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Carnival Miracle requesting the man be medevaced. The crewmember was unsure of the condition of the man but reported he thought he was suffering from a heart attack or stroke and needed medical assistance.

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and transported the man to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus for treatment.

The man was reported in stable condition.

My husband and I were on the Carnival Miracle at the time this gentleman was medevaced, We are from the UK and were celebrating our Silver wedding Anniversay, and my husbands 50th birthday.

We hope the man has made a full recovery, please send our best wishes to him, and we would like to let the coast guard know what a fantastic job they do.Well Done to you all.
