I have lived one block from Fulling Mill Road for 24 years. Over those years, there have been at least 3 deaths from cars hitting the tree on the corner of Jennings Ave and Fulling Mill. People come sling shotting out of that curve and don't recover b/c they are going too fast, or are impaired. Should take a look at that tree. It bears the marks from these accidents and is very old. I am pretty sure that tree is going to win a vehicle vs tree every time. In the warmer months when the windows are open I have heard screeching brakes and obvious metal on metal, and then the sirens start. This has happened so many times I could not even estimate.
Accidents are so very common on this road. They redirect traffic back around towards Bayshore Rd every time, and then we have a parade of fast moving vehicles running down our residential street. We have lots of small children playing on our neighborhood streets here that are usually safe, unless there is an accident on Fulling Mill Road. I live on a corner, so I get them coming down the block and then turning the corner. There is a stop sign there, which is generally ignored. I have had a problem with people actually just cutting through my yard to avoid the stop sign! That is not only when there is re directed traffic either. You would think that when this type of situation happens that the Police would have at least an officer making sure these people are NOT speeding on our residential street. They just direct them where to go and then b/c of the detour I suppose they are now in that much more of a hurry. It's bound to happen that one of these times, one of these people that are in such a hurry due to the detour will be cooling their heels in jail for vehicular manslaughter b/c they got detoured from Fulling Mill road due to an accident. and then hit a child on the road they are told to take and think the speed limit is still 50 MPH!

Why aren't you telling your politicians in your respective towns that you need more cops to patrol those roads? You can't patrol with no one moron!

To all the people that just want to complain about something, just because the headline says three cars it could be true. If you read it it says three cars and two injuries. I responded to that incident and i give the cops and emts and the fellow firefighters that were there with myself alot of credit. They did their job like they were suppose to, so to everyone that thinks they can do better put your time in to one of those organizations and then put negative comments on here.

10/3 @ 6am yes "3" cars two people. also just for the rest of you fulling mill rd. is a county road. if the speed limit is changed it is the county who must decide not LTPD.

The speed on Fulling Mill Rd. should be lowered to no more then 30 mph in some places. Lower and Middle Twp. Police Depts. need to patrol it more often. If the pd's did there job then every other car on this road would be stopped for breaking the law, and maybe the road would be safer. I live on this road and have seen many accidents and some very near accidents. People are always passing in the no passing zone, (Middle side near the curve before and after the park), they ride so close to the car in front of them that I don't know how there haven't been more accidents. People are always racing on this road, and the people on motorcycles are doing wheelies.

Kudos to the PD, and EMS/FD volunteers who responded - Thank you! Details of this story aside and just as a general observation - Assuming that those drivers who continue to think they are the only ones on the road and the road belongs to them will continue their reckless ways (speeding, inattentiveness, aggressive), could LTPD take a fresh look at getting the 50mph lowered to 40mph? FM Rd. is so dark and winding 50mph has always seemed a touch much. Even if the other car is speeding, at least the one getting hit is going 10mph less. Oh yes, and the chance of getting a light at the corner of 47 & FM Rd is...? Way too many accidents for such a small, less populated county than many others in our state. Bad for everyone - the victims, their families, and the emergency services personnel who roll up on the scene. So much vehiclular tragedy is avoidable by simply obeying the law. Our prays are with all involved.
