
COURT HOUSE — Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Chairwoman Veronica Town has announced the recipients of the Chamber’s most prestigious awards for 2008 Member of the Year, Cape May County Betterment, Committee of the Year, and Historic Preservation. These awards will be presented at the Chamber’s 64th Annual Meeting and Installation Dinner Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Wildwoods Convention Center.
Member of the Year award will be presented to Coastal Broadcasting Systems, WCZT 98.7 “The Coast” located in Wildwood, NJ for the radio stations outstanding support of the Chamber. Coastal Broadcasting Systems CEO and Chairman of the Board, Edwin Rosenfeld is a past President of the Chamber and currently is a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Expo Committee.
The Turner Family of Ocean View Camping Resort, Ocean View Trailer Sales, and Shore Gate Golf Club located in Ocean View, NJ will also be recognized with a Member of the Year Award for their support of the Chamber’s Golf Tournament held this past June.
The Brendan Borek High Tides Memorial Fund will receive the 2008 Cape May County Betterment Award for fundraising efforts to assist Cape May County pediatric cancer patients and their families.
The Chamber’s Environmental Affairs Committee will receive the 2008 Committee of the Year. This committee is recognized for its focus on Recycling and Energy Conservation Seminar by hosting seminars on these important topics this past year.
The 2008 Historic Preservation Award will be presented to the Borough of Wildwood Crest for the preservation and restoration of the Wildwood Crest Beach Pier, formerly known as the Wildwood Crest Fishing Pier built in 1919.
