NORTH WILDWOOD — There are crowds, and then are huge crowds, and the annual Irish Festival in this city easily draws the largest throng with several hundred thousand who celebrate Celtic heritage and traditions.

Throughout the weekend a variety of events will take place, including a Saturday morning Brian Riley Pipe Exhibition at the Eight and Central avenues field. There, bagpipers will demonstrate their marching and musical abilities, in something that brings back memories of the Emerald Isle to many.

On Sunday, at 1 p.m. a grand parade will begin from 24th and Surf Avenue. Grand marshal will be Rev. William (Fr. Bill) McCandless with special guest Seamus Boyle, national AOH president.

For a complete list of activities, see this week's On Deck, in print or in PDF form.

I was at the festival all weekend. Much fun was had by all. I saw no trouble during the three days we attended. Too many haters with nothing good to say. If you don't like the festival, stay home!

The festival was terrific this year. I was there with my family all three days. I did not see one bit of trouble. Too many haters out there. If you don't like the festival, stay home.

I saw open containers everywhere. You know if it were any other weekend you'd get arrested.

People of Irish descent should be ashamed of themselves, this does not but reinforce the typical depiction of a the drunken Irish.I have lived in North Wildwood my whole life and really am appalled at the way this event is handled.Just another reason this town is going nowhere.

If I wanted a drink and a fight, I'd much rather do pay per view for a Vegas fight. Atleast I wouldn't get arrested.

dont worry the underagee's were out in full force last night. Met 4 girls in Keenans who were 16-17 years old(thought they were at least 21 when I first saw them). ABC needs to be a bit more on top of issues like this.

Come to North Wildwood to drink on the sidewalk, get arrested for DUI, crash your car on RT 47 on the drive home and complain about how unsafe the road is!
