VILLAS — On Sept. 11 at 7:40 a.m., Lower Township police responded to a call of a man with a gun in the area of Ridgewood and Glenwood Avenues.
Officers responded to the area and located a white male subject, a juvenile, outside his house with a black rifle in his possession. It was later determined that the rifle was a Cyma Airsoft BB rifle with a scope and two clips of BBs. The orange tip had been painted black, police said.
After further investigation, with the subject’s mother present, officers located green vegetation believed to be marijuana.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of an imitation firearm and possession of marijuana. He was released to his parents.
Sgt. Tom Bebby, School Resource Officer Al Flitcroft, Patrolman Mike Perry and Detectives Ed Dougherty, Joe Boyle and Art Mason investigated the incident.

You people are all lame worrying about the parents and where they were at. Maybe they work double shifts. For all you know your children could be smoking/selling drugs or commiting crimes when your not around. A parent can only do so much. Children/Teenagers have a mind of their own.

have jobs,or ***,what my point is the kid had time to paint the tip,or did he use a
sharpy, and he also had time to grow the pot, what was he planning?probably nothing but
it gave him a sense of power.who knows, but airsoft and bbs are two different things both banned in nj.how much pot?pounds?i doubt it.his dad should make him pay the fine and community service for all involved, hes lucky it didnt turn into a tragety.

He definitely wasn't 9 - more like 17... and he looks 23. He's lucky he didn't get shot.

It's always diassappointing to see parents letting kids have airsoft guns irresponsibly. Kids get charged with misusing, brandishing, and threatening people with these guns all the time, and its going to ruin it for the people who are responsible, educating, and law abiding in their use of the guns for a hobby.

Where were the parents at 7:40 a.m. while this child was waiting to get on the bus. You don't leave a 9 yr old alone.
