
SEA ISLE CITY — A state prisoner walked away from his place of employ Aug. 22, had two hours of freedom but then refused to buy a beach tag, which led to his capture.
According to Sea Isle City police, at 11:20 a.m., Anthony J. Rosario, 36, of Penns Grove, was captured at 43rd and Pleasure Avenue after he walked away from Deauville Inn, Strathmere, where he was a prisoner participating in the state Department of Corrections work release program.
Rosario was free for about two hours efore a beach tag officer noticed that Rosario, who attempted to enter the beach at 37th Street, refused to buy a beach tag.
Officers were called, and converged on the area. After a brief search, Sgt. Anthony Garreffi who, along with Officer Frank Lupperger, took him into custody located Rosario.
Rosario was returned to the Department of Corrections. He was expected to be charged with the escape.
Patrolman Frank Taylor was also involved in the capture.

This is great convicted felons cookiing my food. I guess my list of fine eating establishments is shrinking.
(ED. NOTE: There was no indication that the prisoner was involved in cooking food.)

thats one way to keep yourself in jail, ***....Why would he go to the beach of all places too?
And DOC should take notice of this event and make them wear the electronic bracelets so they have the ability to track work release prisoners if need be. Also maybe the employer should keep a better track of their employee's especially work release prisoners, due to the high risk of them pulling something like this.
