STONE HARBOR -- The end of summer must be close, when crowds flock to Stone Harbor's business district's sidewalks for the annual Merchants Day Sale, the season is winding down.

So it was on Aug. 23 that the business people in the resort's shopping area placed their wares onto racks and table and offered many of their goods at up to 50 percent off regular prices.

Traffic was heavy and weather was excellent for the annual event, hosted in conjunction with the local Chamber of Commerce.

Hi,I am Richard Head and I must say that my weekend "down the shore" at Stone Harbor was a good one,but the sidewalk sale was a annoying. This "Sale" should be held in a big parking lot,not a sidewalk that is 10 feet wide! Lot's of kids in strollers and too many people don't mix well! Change how you do this,it will bring more people out and please those of us who need more room to stroll!
