RIO GRANDE -- Volunteers from Rio Grande Fire Company were called to Grande Woods Mobile Home Park on Route 9 Aug. 17 about 6:15 p.m. after a 55-gallon drum of kerosene spilled.
There was no report of fire, and no injuries were initially reported, but the material is considered hazardous, and must be cleaned in a safe, secure manner.

Are you kidding me, do you have any idea how many firefighters have left Rio Grande VFD because Walt Belles and the entire Belles family act as if they own the place. I have heard them make statements that it is the "Belles's Firehouse". What a joke.

I would like to thank the Rio Grande fire co for a wonderful job they did yesterday on that fuel spill. We as a community becoming a city can always relie on our volunteers. They did a great job once again. The Chief not sure of his name i beleive it is Walt Belles is always so professional and nice and seems to care about his residents. He and his company did a great job on the trailer fire a few months back. Great job guys you'll continue to get our donations for great fire protection.
