COLD SPRING — On Aug. 14 at approximately 10:20 p.m., Lower Township Police Officers responded to a domestic call in the 600-block of Route 9.

Upon arrival, Officer Robert Fessler was met by a male subject who stated he was just assaulted by his fiancé who had struck him in the face with a closed fist approximately five times.

The male’s fiancé was identified as Judy Lund, 36, of the same address.

Officers observed that the male’s face was swollen and bleeding.

Officers then spoke with Lund, who they described as highly intoxicated and advised her that she was under arrest for assaulting her fiancé.

At this time, Lund became highly belligerent and combative, yelling profanities at the officers and refusing to be handcuffed. Lund was eventually handcuffed with the assistance of Class II Officer Joel Sanders.

She was processed at the Lower Township Police Department where she continued to be highly combative and belligerent towards officers.

She was then transported to the Cape May County Jail on charges of simple assault and resisting arrest.

To 8/22/2008 4:04 pm - What the heck is a "finance"? Is that a boyfriend that pays for everything? She owns her own home - she could get out of this relationship if she wanted to ***

Sun, 08/24/2008 - 10:50am

8/22 @4:04- Why don't you just send a sympathy card instead of posting on here?!

Fri, 08/22/2008 - 4:04pm

I am a close and personal friend of Judi Lund. I have witnessed the abuse and distrust that her finance has placed upon her. I personally was verbally attacked by her finance the day in question. He appeared drunk and making no sense while yelling at me. She was very embarrassed by his behavior.

In response to the comment that "why is she still with him?" Sometimes leaving is easier said than done, as we all know this to be a fact! Situations sometimes present themselves that make the easy solution an impossibility.

I love and support Judi and wish her the best with this situation and always in life!

"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" is probably what your fiancee said after the first punch - but did you listen? And in response to the 8/20/08 11:28 pm writer - you state "A woman has every right to defend her children even when they are being talked bad about" - If this is what her fiancee was doing then why is she still with him?

Thu, 08/21/2008 - 5:07pm

EVERYONE NEEDS TO LET IT GO...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...Get on with your own lives and leave me alone...And by the way, no one is "enabling" me...As for you Erik...the only one you are hurting is your mother...not me...think about that one....The truth will be known soon enough...

Signed,
JUDI LUND

I glad this rookie cop had the stones to see through the lies that Erik sister is trying to spread. Unfortunately, I have been to several funerals of family members and friends and the last thing I want to do is come home and fist fight with my spouse

Thu, 08/21/2008 - 3:18pm

I am not a family member but I do know all parties involved. I applaud Erik for doing the right thing and hearing crap from other members of the family for speaking out. Maybe someday they'll see that they have enabled her and therefore she isn't getting the help she needs to get her life straightened out.

Also If you have to belittle me to make her look better than so be it. Yes I did get in trouble when i was 15 and I took the punishment that I was given and nobody protected me. And by the way, if you KNOW so much about me you would know that Rob was NOT involved. But like I said its all ignorance. I also want to say that this is really amusing for everyone that is reading this page because most of you are family and friends, to the ones that are not Its been a good laugh, Thanks. This truly shows how people act when they cant hide from their actions. And how they try to change the original point of view and put the focus on someone else in this case it is me. I ask anyone that knows me, to understand, I can chose my friends but I cant chose my family. Finally, if I am what you say I am, please enlighten me with any truth to your accusations.

Thank you Erik

PS every time I have written on here I have posted my name so sorry to disappoint you but the comments are from other people and not me. I have no reason to hide, unlike you. Sorry for you but I am not afraid to print my name.

People should really get there facts straight if they want to talk. And if you think I don't know mine, prove it.

Thu, 08/21/2008 - 1:07pm

You people are ignorant to the whole situation. I said one thing and now you are all trying to take the focus from her and put it on me. HAHA!!! And if any of you have the audacity to "post" than you should have the courage to write your name (but you won't). Or even better say it to me in person (again, won't). This has nothing to do with her last name, the county is just finally happy that something is finally being done she's been getting away with her *** for way too long. Sister or not, I do not stand behind ***

YES it is the Erik you think it is... her brother, who has also posted many of the comments on here. He definitely has a problem with everyone and anybody. He thinks he is perfect, but lets not forget about the incident where he *** with his friends, one of which I think is the "rob" who also commented. And as far as Mr. Fessler is concerned, yes he has a macho attitude...and as always, the cop is alwyas right...no matter what....guess we will find out when the verdict is in...Rookie cop+attitude+having NO idea what happened that day=bad day for everyone.....
A woman has every right to defend her children, even when they are being talked bad about...YOU have no idea what went on...get a life..
And "ROB"-YOU have no idea what you are talking about, except whatever you heard from ERIK...who everyone knows, is a li*** and "never" wrong about anything...Maybe you should look at your friend a little closer...
And as far as her last name...you are absolutley right...would have never been printed had it been something else....

Wed, 08/20/2008 - 7:43pm

Hey Wednesday 8:49 what reason should Erik have to be ashamed of himself??? If anyone needs to be ashamed its Judy and all you people that stand behind her!!! The only thing you people standing behind her are doing, is you keep encouraging her to be a *** on society. Its time to grow up. S*** Nobody in their right mind would be putting themselves through this let alone their kids through this!!! And to everyone that sits there and really reads the story and understands that this lady is obviously *** I thank you for not falling victim to the "She's the female so that makes her the victim"!!! Also its funny how all you people that stand behind her dont have enough courage to post who you are.

Also R** apologies go out to you for being marked as a senior citizen!! "We need to stop the abuse on our local citizens that are 70 years young"

I know one thing for sure my wife or I have ever hit each other in 20 years of marriage. T*** she must of had a REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAly bad day

Wed, 08/20/2008 - 9:14am

Once again I had to giggle at some spouters. This time its 08-19-2008 at 7:54. If it isnt the accused speaking it's obviously a family member. The funny part I refer too is the writer saying that the Officer had something to prove. Does anyone in this state take responsibility for their actions or are they always looking to blame someone. The cop got called to go there for a domestic and now he is being macho ? You, Mr/Mrs writer need to get your head out of the sand and look around cause them evil cops are probably looking to make you thier next victim to prove once again how macho they might be. Grow up

Wed, 08/20/2008 - 8:49am

Erik-

I certainly hope you are not the Erik I think you are. If you are then you should be ashamed of yourself. S***

Must be a slow news day in Cape May, I bet if her last name was Smith or Jones this would not be a story in Cape May.

Wed, 08/20/2008 - 12:09am

The male was bleeding and his fase was swollen, come on mommy 08-19-2008 at 7:54PM. What more do you need !! Some of you women think you can do whatever you want and because you are women you must be the victim. Thank god the police see thru your games.

Tue, 08/19/2008 - 10:54pm

7:54 pm is a joke. You must not know her . I do and you are wrong about everything you say other than maybe there was a funeral that day.

Tue, 08/19/2008 - 10:09pm

To the commenter that posted on 7:54 obviously you have not the slightest idea of what you are talking about. Ok yes there is 2 sides to every story so lets talk about the two sides. You claim that this is just a bad moment?? Thats funny because im guessing 2 weeks prior was just a bad moment as well. This lady attacked one of my buddys at his own home and currently has charges pending if i remember correctly. And if it was just a bad moment why would she have attacked 2 other people in previous years as well. Also, I cant believe you would verbally attack the local police!!! How do you come to the conclusion the officer Fessler was being "Macho" and way out of hand where you there? Last time I checked it was an officers job to protect and serve. If she wasnt so out of hand and intoxicated then why was she arrested and taken to the police station where is states she still was out of hand? I cant wait till the day you need the local police and they come to your rescue then what are you going to have to say about them then? To make along story short before you go posting as if you know what your talking about you should get your facts straight!!

P.S. If you know "ALL" the facts enlighten cape may may county as to what these facts are.
Rob

First of all, there is ALWAYS 2 sides. It is a shame that people have nothing better to do than pass judgement on others. As a matter of fact, there were a lot of things leading up to the incident...including a funeral that day. Officer Fessler apparently has a lot to prove by being "macho" in his decisions on how to handle police activity. Anybody that knows this lady, knows she is not a bad person, her kids are well kept and good kids, and not at all abused...She is a local, but NOT local ***. Has anyone ever heard of the "let you without sin cast the first stone?" Everyone at some point in their lives has a bad moment. Why the newspaper decided this was "newsworthy" I am not sure. It definitely is not going to hurt the lady, but will definitley affect her kids. NOW, who is providing the abuse? Everyone should let it be...and look at your owns lives before you pass judgement.

Tue, 08/19/2008 - 4:01pm

They both need help!

Tue, 08/19/2008 - 1:24pm

HELLLLOOOOOO......get her side? Don't think she was ever aware that she had one. Pretty sure I've seen this couple at *** or was it the ***??!! Were they wearing their Villa's t-shirts?

Mon, 08/18/2008 - 10:10pm

8/18@3:17- THEY WERE PROBABLY "SHOOBIES" RENTING FOR THE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mon, 08/18/2008 - 3:17pm

More great moments in local trash, and you people complain about us "shoobies"

Sun, 08/17/2008 - 9:59pm

What is the "WHOLE truth" according to you? The police state it as it happened.

Sat, 08/16/2008 - 11:05pm

8/16-11:50--- why don't you print the WHOLE truth?

Sat, 08/16/2008 - 9:49pm

Apparently, innocent until proven guilty does NOT apply to Cape May County or the Herald newspaper. Can someone define the difference between freedom of speech and defamation of character? Apparently there is none. Since when is it ok to print allegations, before someone is actually found guilty? Maybe the Herald reporters should contact both side before they print anything. Seems to me someone should look into the legal side of their reporting tactics.

(ED. NOTE: It is perfectly legal to print arrest reports, since they are public record. There is no indication of guilt or innocence, only that the charges were pressed. Ajudge will decide the person's ultimate disposition.)

Sat, 08/16/2008 - 11:50am

Maybe everybody should get ALL the facts before they make any accusations. Why didn't they print the WHOLE truth...

Sat, 08/16/2008 - 10:52am

Hope DYFS gets involved with this family..she has been *** for many years and Im sure her *** from her actions.

Fri, 08/15/2008 - 11:03pm

Did her young children witness this horrific incident?

Fri, 08/15/2008 - 8:16pm

We need to quit the abuse on the seniors in our town! This is the perfect example of what I am Talking about! Keep this abusive lady in Jail. Regards Erik
