NORTH CAPE MAY — The Lower Township Police Department reported on Aug. 10 at approximately 6 p.m. officers responded to the area of the Channel Apartments for a fight call involving several subjects.

While investigating the incident, Patrolman Eric Coombs observed a marijuana plant on a balcony in the J Building of the complex.

The owner of the plant was identified as Joshua Fehrle, 19, of the 3000-block of Bayshore Road.

Fehrle was arrested and charged with possession of the plant. He was charged on a special complaint summons and the case is pending court, police said.

A neighbor in response to the original call also signed additional charges for harassment.

Coombs, Patrolman Shaun Whittington, Class II Officer Michael Iames and Sgt. Thomas Beeby investigated the case.

I am so glad the police actually did something with this drug dealers and their shipments. That's why I think it is better to use legal weed and I saw that lately many people are wondering only one question: what are legal buds?

I don't think it was the case to arrest this man, he is not a public danger, he just had a marijuana plant on his window... Every marijuana related controversy is so ridiculous, I see things are very simple, why do we have to make a such a great debate out of this? Marijuana legalization would end all the troubles, I don't see another way, do you?
