RIO GRANDE — While cars streamed into the parking lot of the Cole Bros. Circus performances in Rio Grande Aug, 11 for the first show of the evening , animal activists Barbara Allison and JoAnn Wildman held signs and passed out literature at the entrance on Fulling Mill Road.
Allison said Cole Bros. elephants appeared to be underfed and animals were kept in cages for 22 hours per day.

'To the person who made comments on Friday...if YOU feel so strongly about dealing with problems with people and YOU feel that someone should worry about hijackers and so and and so on-why aren't YOU doing something about it???? Why should the people protesting circuses be dealing with issues YOU are concerned about. I love how you just throw it on someone else. What are YOU doing to make things better? If you feel strongly about something then you need to do something about it. Step up to the plate!

P.E.T.A. .........................
I Thought it stood for "People Enjoy Touchering Animals"
But then I found it it stands for "People Enjoy Tasty Animals"
It's all ***......just like the Little Punk that was on the front page of the Press four years ago in front of the old Daniel's Restaurant in West Cape May protesting the appetizer Frau Gra with a cigarette in her hand and a protest sign in the other while SHE WORE A PAIR OF UGGS, only to be seen about two years later eating a Hot Dog at a late night party in Cape May by myself and a lot of locals. It's funny how things are worth fighting for when it's a convenience for YOU !!
Here's a news flash Skippy............go hug a tree how bout ya! But not too long......I'm going to cut that baby down to burn it!

from circuses.com
cowering bears muzzled and
leashed while being beaten
• doves “kicked like soccer balls”
• horses punched in their snouts
• dogs who are only fed when
they perform properly
• big cats hit repeatedly with
jagged wooden sticks
• primates whacked with
metal rods and outfitted
with collars that deliver
electric shock through
remote-control devices

PETA= People eating tasty animals :)
I hate people who are all worried about animals so much.
Worry about us first.
oh, and news flash, the earth I'm sure will survive with out a few elephants, and with the happiness it brings us, who cares...its like 5 elephants out of thousands.
They dont wage war against us, they dont try hijacking planes, they are animals. Worry about the people that do do these things before stupid crap like elephants in circus'

Funny! I was disgusted by all the people that went into the circus. Check out Circuses.com and Peta.com. *** There is a videotape of the Coles Bros. elephant trainer beating one of the elephants. What fun that would be to show the kids. Get a grip. Educate yourself.

I hate to tell all you trusting souls that circus animals DO NOT have good lives. It is sad that you think they do, and you bring your sweet animal-loving children to the circus under the pretense that everything is just fine. It is not. The Coles Brothers' Circus has 3 pages of violations that were printed out and given to the Rio Grande Fire House. They have had 3 elephants and numerous other animals die in their care. Is that something your children would like to hear about? Don't be so naive. Circuses make money, and they make money off of animal acts. The animals are a commodity. Go online and investigate. Don't blame protestors for things you are clueless about.

Come One Come All !! Big and Small....to the Lower Township Court Circus. We got all types of Dangerous Animals, and when not not in court, they are living next door to you!! That's right folks. What other court in Cape May County do you have three armed officers there for the protection of the judge and fans. Why would you want to pay money when you can go every Tuesday at 9 AM and watch the most fascinating show in Cape May County. And people go to Disney World to have this much fun. They got Goofy (cause he's whacked out on heroin), and Sleepy (cause he's drunk from the night before). They got Sneezy (cause he just did a line of coke in the parking lot) and of course Dopey (cause he tried to get into court and got caught with a bag of weed.) So why spend your money on a Circus when you can come for free. Then we can let PETA go back to doing what they do best and that is harassing the Sport Fishermen and the Mid Atlantic Tuna Tournament.

I took my children to the circus and I was disgusted with the people standing out there with their signs and trying to make people boycott the circus. Every year they are out there and every year I feel like telling these woman to go home and clean their houses instead of causing a ruckus on the roads. I did not see any animal in the circus treated badly they look nice and healthy just leave the circus alone and mind your business if you don't like the circus then just don't go.

Anyone who thinks it's okay to abuse an animal, Deep down thinks it's okay to abuse a child. Deliberate and thoughtful cruelty to an animal is as disgusting as watching a child get beat up. Both children and animals are held hostage to overblown egos and because many times, people are bigger and stronger. Taking advantage like that is pitiful. And anyone I mean anyone who thinks its okay needs a shrink, a conscious, and probably the snot beat of them and thrown in prision....just so they know what it's like for a day. And remember that many of these animals live everyday like that for their entire lives.

Wow, I remember going a previous year seeing a bunch of dogs dressed up in clothes and thought how pitiful. The circus is such a family friendly place. I know so many moms and dads that took there kids there. I wonder if they thought the animals looked as if the were poorly taken care of. Was it fun? Was it worth the money? A people circus, does this sound fun to you?? I am not so sure that it would be that enjoyable? Let me know. Visit me on our blog spot.

A circus is inherently cruel to animals. Animals in them live hopeless existences traveling in poor circumstances to locations where they cannot get their physical needs met. One significant problem this causes is that some of the animals end up hurting people in their distress.
Thank you to the people passing out the educational literature. Few people know how cruel life is for a circus animal. Many would not support them by buying a ticket, if they were knowledgeable.
