COURT HOUSE — Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Chief Joseph Evangelista of Middle Township Police Department announced Aug. 8 the on-going investigation of a double stabbing that occurred earlier this date in Middle Township.
Just after midnight, Middle Township Police responded to the Cape Regional Medical Center in response to a person who arrived at the Emergency Department suffering from an abdominal stab wound. This subject, identified as 46-year-old David Homer, of Wildwood Crest, was evaluated at Cape Regional Medical Center and was subsequently airlifted to Atlantic Care Medical Center for further treatment.
Shortly thereafter, police responded to a residence in Rio Grande following a report of a second individual suffering from numerous stab wounds. This subject, identified as 40-year-old Eli Levine of Court House, was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center where he was stabilized and subsequently transported to Cooper Medical Center for further treatment.
The investigation, conducted by Middle Township Police Patrol and Major Crimes Units along with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units, revealed that the two stabbings were the result of an altercation between Homer and Levine that occurred in the vicinity of 1037 Route 9 South in Court House.
The incident remains under investigation at this time by Middle Township police and the county prosecutor’s office.
No charges have been filed at this time.

All these people that want to set good examples where were you in 1987 to 1996 .,Watching t.v. All of wildwood was dealing just about so why dont you start with your wildwood an work your way out to middle township. It was an every day occurance nothing unusual it seemed to anyone I never seen so many drug deals out in broad daylight like in that town. A good example is move move your family right away to better areas with a Better Quality of Life. You would think in a more densely populated area there would be more control. But its just the opposite.

Im the youngest son of Dave Horner, I know that my Dad was left for dead and the reason for him leaving the scene was that he was stabbed in the bladder. The knife that the *** Eli had was supposively a small knife. The knife was driven through the pelvic bone and severely damaged his bladder. I love my father and seeing what's been said here, really goes to show people have no idea what has happened and i guess it's my job to say something. My dad's not stupid, were in tough times and my dad has dug himself into a hole, ***.

The Horners may not seem like strangers to the police department but you have no clue what you're talking about you creep.
This is not because of road rage, the papers don't know what happened that well either. ELI LEVIENE was the only one with a weapon and stabbed David in the abdomen. LEVIENE later went home and cut/stabbed himself with a different knive to cover himself up and blame the other. And why you may ask I know all of this information? I'm a member of the family.

These two locals were only fighting because Philadelphia residents were down for summer vacation, these things would never happen in the winter LOL

If it took you ALOT OF BRAINS TO DECIPHER "FIFURE" you have a problem. It was just a typo. It was easy to "figure" out!!

Yes- but apparently it does take a lot of brains to decipher "fifure"

Just like we say.................dumb and dumber..........no strangers to the police dept........rip offs.................etc. etc...............obviously nothing good is what they were up to. And the outcome........................well, that too speaks for itself..............two grown men who stabbed each other...............................what now??????????????????

And all us locals say the tourists are the problem, but here we are... two locals acting like morons and setting a bad example for our local youths as well as the tourists. How can we expect tourists to behave in our town when we can even get it together ourselves. Shame on Cape May County.

Where in the article does it say weapons were found in both of their cars??

The whole story sounds very strange to me, I think there is alot more to this story. Don't you think it's strange that both men had weapons in their cars? Both are local? Both left where it happend? Somethings not right. Hopefully the police are looking into this. I know the guy from the Crest and the police aren't strangers to him or his family.

More likely one contractor looking for payment from that deadbeat ***- he has ripped off every subcontractor in the county and is being sued by everyone - has been in hiding - good to know he hasn't left the county!

No judgement here..............merely questioning the reason why two grown men would stab each other. Was there good examples set for the younger generation? Was it stupidity to let this occur on either part? Could it have been avoided? And no harm meant about the medical insurance............but there are so many people without it in CMC!!

Maybe you should get all the facts straight before judging someone. You know not all papers print what is really going on.

Initially when I heard this on the news I would have thought it was two younger irresponsible, immature persons...........my bad........it was two grown men!! Was it really road rage or an altercation over drugs/money etc. Crazy men setting bad example for the younger generation once again!! When they recover from their stupidity they should be put in a jail cell as cell mates!! Probably don't have medical insurance either!!
