OCEAN VIEW -- Belleplain Emergency Corps, AtlantiCare Paramedics and State Police responded to a dirt pit area off Stoney Court just after 7 p.m. July 29 for an all-terrain vehicle accident.
When Belleplain rescuers arrived, they requested the Ocean View Fire Department use bolt cutters to open a gated fence so they could gain access to the victim.
Soon after emergency medical technicians finally reached the scene, they requested a Medevac helicopter to fly. Ocean View Fire Department set up a landing zone behind the Franklin Savings Bank on Route 9.
According to a family member on scene, the victim was a 28-year-old female who was operating the ATV. When she attempted to negotiate a hill the ATV overturned.
South Star airlifted the victim to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Trauma Division. The victim’s injuries were unknown. No further information was available.

Ok so just let the people sit there and die, while you stand on the other side of a fence locked out. Makes tons of sense.
A pair of bolt cutters and a crow bar is all you would need, not an entire fire company.
The article states that the fire company made entry:
"When Belleplain rescuers arrived, they requested the Ocean View Fire Department use bolt cutters to open a gated fence so they could gain access to the victim."
If you have information we dont, that must mean you were on scene, hence a member of Belleplain Emergency Corp's. So I guess all you guy's want to do is put bandaids on people and pass them off to the hospital.
Wait till one of you are lying in pain and agony on the other side of a locked fence and I'll stand there and say, well, we should have bolt cutters on our truck, but since we're against doing anymore than "treatment" I'll let you sit there and wait till the fire company responds(adding 5-10 minutes till I can get to you to treat you).
Instead of being so negative and against things, think it through, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea.
Just because the helicopter took a while to get there doesn't mean you cant get to the patient and begin treatment.
Think about what you're saying before you write it.

Belleplain Emergency Corps. is not a rescue company. They carry emergency medical equipment such as oxygen and the fire deparments supply the Rescue Tools...... Besides access was gained to the patient prior to fires arrival and a helicopter was placed in the air.. So check your facts before you open your mouth...

I never said Belleplain did a bad job, I simply stated if they had forcible entry tools on board the ambulance, which would aid in gaining entry to an unconscious, or immobile victim in a home, may help save some time in the time frame of the person needing medical treatment. Regardless of trespassing or not, the person was hurt pretty good, and I think if that were you, you'd want them to get to you ASAP. If you were stuck in your home dying, and they sat outside helplessly waiting for the fire company to make entry because your door was locked, I'm sure you'd feel differently about this.
I know several area rescue squads carry forcible entry tools on their ambulances.

They are not trailer parks, they're campgrounds. The women in this story is a local and there are crimes occurring that are far worse then riding an ATV on someones private property. Get off your high horse and get a clue.

Belleplain Rescue does a good job - who cares in this case about forcible entry- these people were VIOLATING THE LAW. We need to stop feeling sorry for criminals and I for one am sorry for all the trailer park *** along Corson Tavern road - these people need to stay in their own states and we need to tear all these trailer parks down!

Yes, they were trespassing, hence why she was in a area where there was a fence and locked gate. Only one side of the "pit" out there is fenced, it's likely they came from a nearby Campground(since there are 2 very close).
Belleplain Rescue could learn from this and start equipping their ambulances with basic tools such as bolt cutters, and halligan bar's to perform forcible entry. It would definitely speed their time in helping the victim insted of standing there helplessly while they wait for the fire company. Remember the "golden hour". every minute makes a difference.

That's a rediculous comment. This person was obviously hurt and you don't even care.If she was tresspassing then let the person's who's property it was deal with it.

Is it true these people were trespassing on private property? If true, they should be prosecuted. Where are the police along this route as well as 550 with speeders and bicyclists who routinely tresspass on local business properties. Stay in your trailer parks please. But, as usual, we will not get the full story, most Herald stories end with "No further information was available".
