STONE HARBOR — At 9:46 a.m. July 25, Stone Harbor Fire-Rescue and police were summoned to 102nd and Sunrise Drive for a report of a vehicle struck a house.
When firefighter, under command of Assistant Chief Robert McClure arrived, they found that the vehicle had been driven at a high speed into the house, and that there were two victims, Daniel and Rosalie Brogan, of West Chester, Pa. and Stone Harbor, injured and trapped in the vehicle “deep inside the house,” according to a release.
Firefighters and rescue began to extricate the victims and requested aid from the Cape May Court House Fire Department for additional extrication equipment, the Jaws of Life hydraulic tool.
Avalon Rescue Squad and AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center paramedics were also summoned to assist the victims.
Two helicopters were dispatched to a landing zone and the Avalon Fire Department assisted with the landing zone assignment.
After 30 minutes, and the use of numerous extrication tools, the patients were extricated from the vehicle.
They were then transported by helicopter to AtantiCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Center.
The accident is under investigation by the Stone Harbor Police Department.

To all of the people writing to insult the fireman and rescue personnel, or anybody for that matter...learn how to spell and punctuate. Then maybe you can go and get a job so you have something else to occupy your time.

Stone harbor fire and the rest of the fire companies in cape may county are the best.Just last month in wildwood many companies came together and all worked as a team. Please do not compare our town to the trashy city up north.

Come on now people, "a joke." These are Volunteers. I challenge any one of you who think this way to volunteer at a fire house. These are people who VOLUNTEER to go in harms way to help us out. They have a life and a family just like you and I yet they find the time to help others? All you have time for is to bash them. Get a life. I applaud them. And the bar??? Even if it is true, who cares. Let them get together and get these things they see and do off their chest. Im sure just like the rest of us, they take work home too. Let them talk about it amongst themselves. No need for the families to hear about it. You know what, as far as im concerned Hats off to these bashed heros. As for the rest of you, please get a life and just maybee you too will volunteer to get off your tails and run in to another persons nightmare. Or maybee you will just continue to be cowardly. Your choice.

Seems to me like you have nothing posotive to say about this situation. So why dont you keep your comments to yourself. A firefighter is a Firefighter which makes them one of the bravest. It does not matter where their location is. WAY TO GO SHFD. Keep up the good work, Dont let people like this @$$ bring you down.

The SH Fire Dep't is a dedicated group of volunteers. They are always willing to assist our community and are very professional. I have respect for them and know, when their services are ever needed, they will respond quickly and confidently. As for the comment about the 2nd floor bar......IF it is true, volunteer and find out just what the firefighters do on the second floor, if they drink it is not in excess. They are always ready to respond to an emergency (or false alarm in SH). Remember they are volunteers, friendships and fun are part of why they dedicate so much time to helping keep our town safe and taxes low (just figure out what the taxes would be if we had to pay fire fighters!) THANK YOU SHFD!!!!!!

We live on 102nd street, found the Fire , Police and Medical teams to be most professional.
Very fast response, everyone went about their job showing the good training received.
Hope we never need this service but if we do we hope is is as good as Stone Harbors.
GREAT JOB. PS: the people assembled gave a well deserved round of applause.
