VILLAS – A 29-year-old Villas man was arrested after he allegedly threatened to shoot Lower Township Police Detective Chris Lambert in the head.

According to police, during July, the department continued its investigation into an entry of an occupied home in the first block of Wilde Avenue here.

During that investigation, police reported a “person of interest” was developed and, while conducting follow-up investigations with various subjects close to that person, a threat to shoot the detective who was working on the case was left on the answering machine of the original victim by the person.

That message was turned over to Lower Township Police Department for evidence.

After conferring with the County Prosecutor’s Office, it was determined that a charge of terroristic threats should be lodged against Michael Donnally, 29, of the first block, Georgia Avenue, Villas.

Donnally was arrested in Atlantic City and later transferred to county jail in Crest Haven on $50,000 bial set by Judge David DeWeese.

Those threats included Donnally indicating that we was going to shoot Lambert in the head, as well as other threats a gainst his life.

The original case that was being investigated remains open at this time, and it does not appear that Donnally was involved in the original entry into the occupied home.

Lambert and Detective First Class Mel Hedum investigated the case as well as the original one.

The villas has to many dirtballs and drug dealers and users.. look at all the call the lower police respond to in 1 month. Now, who want to buy a 2 bedroom 1 bath condo here for $250.000? LOL not me.. I would not give you $50,000 for 2 of them...The bad element there and no beach to swim , no sidewalks, sound like Camden with condo's to me.
I guess your realtor told you it was paridise HUH?

Det Lambert is a nice guy and a great cop. He cares about his job and has taken many criminals off our streets. The scum that threatened him should be behind bars for a long time. Chris keep up the good work, and thanks to the entire LTPD for keeping us safe.

"What would make law enforcement think this...guessing a patsy is needed."

Um, how abut the fact that they have him, on a recording, saying that he is going to shoot Detective Lambert, in the head?

whether he was involved in the 1st incident or not, at the end of the day, this guy made a threat on a answering machine. with his voice taped on the machine the house occupant turned it over to the cops. i'm sure during qustioning he had to confess or state it was indeed him on the tape. otherwise this guy wouldn't be in the jail.
and in these days you can't take a threat lightly
Chris Lambert, and the men and women of L.T.P.D. do a fantastic job. of course those who do bad and get caught at it would disagree.

To the editor, you might want to check this sentance for some typo's that could possibly get you in some trouble.

If this person wasn't involved in the 1st case, then it stands to reason that he wouldn't/didn't make the threats either. What would make law enforcement think this...guessing a patsy is needed.
