To The Editor: On June 28 at 10:05 a.m., we placed 12 quarters in parking meter No. 37 for three hours. We came back from the beach at 12:50 p.m. to place more quarters in the meter, and found a parking ticket. We went back to the beach with the ticket, which was issued at 12:44 p.m., and checked the time with the rest of the family, and no one’s watch had 1 p.m. On July 3, my family and I went to the beach again. We were parked across the street from the ocean at the cove end of the beach. We were the first or second meter from the restaurant. This meter stopped registering at two hours and 45 minutes even though three hours worth of quarters were inserted. These meters need to have their timing checked by the meter maintenance department.
