CAPE MAY — As of July 22, all the city's beaches were reopened to swimmers.
Rough surf and wave action caused city officials to pull all bathers from the ocean on July 21 at about 3:30 p.m.
A series of six injuries within a 40-minute period resulted in restricting beachgoers to sun bathing for the remainder of the day.
Two of the injuries required the individuals to be airlifted to AtlantiCare Trauma Center.
The Cape May Beach Patrol and Cape May Fire Department EMS personnel responded to the calls, but because of the number and fast pace of the rescues, Lower Township Rescue Squad and Wildwood Crest Rescue Squad provided mutual aid support.
In addition, U.S. Coast Guard Traing Center Fire Department provided back up coverage for the Cape May Fire Station and assisted on the EMS calls.

You must have graduated on the West Coast !! You talk about "people using their own judgment" .......try using the spell check which highlights improperly spelled words. See....we trusted your judgment and you failed. Can't trust your judgment with respect to the water either.......we hope you don't have to think too hard to swim......your butt might drown...
So just GET OUT OF THE WATER shoobie.......Oh and by the way...Shoobie lit up as being misspelled !! May I can replace it with ***!

Man east coast is weak. So glad there are less restrictions on the beach where I'm from. Maybe there are just too many cooks out there. Sunbathing only what a joke. The best places have no lifeguards just your own judgement. Stoopid people they all act the same.

My child is a friend of the driver and I know this boy well there is no where in any of the reports was it stated that Nick was drunk the boy has been through alot in his life and has been on prescription medication for trouble with depression. although he should not have been driving he WAS NOT Drunk. He is a good kid who made a very bad choice to drive and it is truly horrible that a young man who was really just beginning his life was taken because of Nick error in judgement. My heart goes out to all parties involved in this horrible accident.
