T.S. Cristobal Heading Offshore

The 5 a.m. position of Tropical Storm Cristobal as seen in satellite images from National Hurricane Center.

MIAMI, FLA -- Tropical Storm Cristobal, with 50 mph winds, was located about 110 miles northeast of Cape Hatteras at 5 a.m. EDT, according to the National Hurricane Center here. It was moving about 13 mph toward the northeast, and was expected to be well off the Mid-Atlantic coast later today.

Some strengthening of its forward speed was also expected. Little change in strength is anticipated for the next day or two.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 125 miles from the center of Cristobal.

THE NEXT ADVISORY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER AT
1100 AM EDT.
