Early Morning Green Creek Crash Injures Driver

GREEN CREEK -- Just before 2 a.m. on July 17, a Ford Escort struck a utility pole here in front of 56 Bayshore Road, trapping the driver.

Green Creek and Rio Grande Fire Departments responded to the scene and found the driver to be heavily entrapped.

Rio Grande Rescue Squad, Emergency Medical Technicians climbed into the wreckage to aid the driver as firefighters worked about 30 minutes to free the driver.

Medic 9 called South Star Medevac to the scene to airlift the unidentified driver to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Trauma Division.

The accident is under investigation by Middle Township police.

No further information was available.
