To The Editor: I felt compelled to write this note of praise to Managing Editor Al Campbell and Publisher Art Hall of the Herald. Each week, I look forward for both of their writings and I feel they do not disappoint me. Take for example the recent columns in the June 25 issue. Campbell wrote about “Where’s the Groundswell of Flood Relief for the Midwest?” His conclusion, “Yes, it’s a bad time to ask for donations, but tragedy doesn’t work on convenient timetables.” The publisher’s column, “Wither Cape May County?” was a gem. I suggest it be carefully read by every elected official in our county. The ongoing dilemma of “people of average income cannot buy property here anymore. So where do the people live who maintain this place? Increasingly out of the county.” Such meaningfully reflections are most welcome. Keep up the good work. RICHARD T. HUGHES Stone Harbor
