A local, volunteer community group from the greater Avalon area, Friend in Need, is planning the first annual “Friend In Need Summer Bash” on Sunday, July 27 from 4-8 p.m. at The Princeton in Avalon.
The $30 ticket will include draft beer, wine, a great menu including a pig roast, and live entertainment from “Out of the Blue,” a band that plays classic rock, blues, and more.
“Friend In Need” is a local organization that raises money to assist people who live in the greater Avalon region. The money is often used to help with medical emergencies. All of the money raised by the “Friend In Need” organization stays in Cape May County.
Part of this year’s event will be the placement of three stars to memorialize some well known Avalon residents: Billy Jensen, Skip Simon, and Donna Corrado. On July 27 at 5 p.m., the party will pause for the placement of the stars on the Memorial Walkway at Veterans’ Plaza.
“Friend In Need” also will be selling tickets for its popular summertime raffle. This year’s prizes include a trip to any Eagles away game during the 2008 season, which includes game tickets, airfare, and a vehicle; and an entire week at a home located in the Florida Keys during February 2009.
