COURT HOUSE -- The nation’s 232nd birthday is history.

After a day of fun and festivities, like those at the Davies Sports Complex here where Middle Township hosted its annual fireworks and family games, Mother Nature performed a water and lightning show.

A rain did not deter the crowd that gathered to watch the fireworks, slated to go skyward about 9:15. However, at about 8:50 p.m., a gentle rain became more persistent, and the fireworks show began.

After the finale, as crowds headed to their cars, the rain continued to fall, and some extra fireworks were sent up.

This may be remembered as the year Middle Township’s festivities were dampened. On June 16, Middle Township High School graduation ceremonies at Memorial Field were shortened to about 30 minutes by a thunderstorm.

Who's brilliant idea was it to have the fireworks although most people left because of the lightning? Probably the same one who made the decision about the High School Graduation. What if someone was struck by that lightning? Who pays that. We do out of our pocket, The Taxpayer. Dummies!

we went to stone harbor's fireworks. The residents took a collection and paid for a delay on the rain until the fireworks were over. Got to love the rich.
