Fourth of July events include a Kite Flying Contest starting 5 p.m. at Carey Stadium Football Field, 6th St. off Boardwalk, sponsored by Air Circus.
Prizes will be awarded in numerous categories including highest flying kite, stunt kite, best homemade kite, miniatures and others.

From 7 to 9 p.m., a concert is scheduled for the football field by the Good Tymes Band playing a variety of nostalgic favorites and patriotic music. Admission to the field is free.

A giant fireworks display is set for 9 p.m. on the 4th. It will be set off from an ocean barge between 9th and 10th sts. The fireworks will be visible from the boardwalk.

There will be two bike parades on the 4th of July both starting at 10 a.m.
The South Ocean City Parade begins lining up at 9 a.m. at 40th and Asbury Ave., and the Garden Civic Assn. lines up at the Longport Bridge.
Both events are free. Prizes are awarded and there are refreshments for youngsters.
