To The Editor: I am the mother of Matt Tozer, the 16-year old boy that died from his injuries after being hit by a car while on his moped on June 9. I can't express adequately enough how much my family and I have been encouraged by the many responses we've read on your Herald Web site. We have been reading them several times a day since the accident, and have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of sympathy from the public. We could not have imagined that a shy, 16-year-old with a “goofy” smile could have made such an impact! Your articles and responses have been so touching to us, and we can't thank you all enough for all the calls, visits, cards, flowers, fruit and meals that we have received from friends and strangers. Please know that every prayer or act of kindness and sympathy has been greatly appreciated. As Christians, we know Matt is in a better place with no pain or sorrow. It is those of us left behind that are hurting. He affected more people in his short life than most of us do in 50 years. Matt finished his race and won his crown. If you are a believer in Christ, you will see him waiting at the finish line. God bless you all for your kindness. LINDA TOZER Court House
