
Learn to chip away as Cape May County Library’s “Art in the Library” series presents woodcarving classes for both beginners and experts.
Classes are from 1-4 p.m. at the following libraries:
· Thursday, July 10, 17, 24 and 31 at the Upper Cape Branch Library, 2050 Route 631, Petersburg (609-628-2607)
· Saturday, August 9, 16, 23 and 30 at the Main Branch Library, 30 Mechanic St., Cape May Court House (609-463-6350)
· Thursday, September 4, 11, 18 and 25 at the Lower Cape Branch Library, 2600 Bayshore Rd., Villas (609-886-8999)
Instructors Dale and Audrey Unkle have taught woodcarving classes for 10years.
Audrey has received numerous awards for her beautiful carved artwork, and has been recognized for her patience in teaching others this special craft.
There is no charge for the classes; however, for those who need one, a starter kit will be available at the first class for a charge of $20. A beginner pattern for a fish or a dolphin will be provided to students.
Classes are limited to 20 participants and a valid Cape May County Library card is required to register.
