STONE HARBOR — A 29-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested June 7 and charged with domestic violence-related assault, criminal mischief and harassment in connection with an alleged assault.

According to Stone Harbor police, a call was received at 10:39 p.m. in the borough’s north end. Avalon Sgt. George Vogeli and Officer John Roscoe responded as mutual aid just prior to arrival of Stone Harbor Officer Robert Walkekr.

They found two juveniles in the area of the residence. Those juveniles, one of whom was the victim’s son, told police that the adults in the house were fighting and that they had escaped through a second floor window to summon help.

Their escape was a result of an attempt by the victim’s son to prevent the alleged assault on his mother after thich he was chased to an upstairs bedroom by the assailant.

Walker could hear arguing from the residence and entered to find the assailant, identified as Anthony Black, 29, in the kitchen with the victim.

Reported intoxicated, Black admitted that he had broken several items in the residence, and assaulted his wife as she held their 2-year-old child in her arms. The assault took place in front of the other children.

Walker arrested Black and charged him with domestic violence-related assault, criminal mischief and harassment while Sgt. Judy Davies gained approval for a temporary restraining order, which prevents Black from any form of contact with the victim.

The case is pending review of Cape May County Family Court.
