Student Council Advisor Alanna Mussachio said that she was trying to come up with a new fundraiser for her students when she saw Alex’s Lemonade Stand at last year’s Irish Fall Festival in North Wildwood.
She and her students have set a goal of raising 3,000 by holding two events. The first is a car wash to be held on Saturday, May 31, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school located at Ocean Drive and 32nd Street.
The second is an Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of Avalon Supermarket, 29th and Dune Drive.
There will also be two raffles: one bike and one iPod will be raffled off within the school. Students can buy tickets now through June 18 when the winning ticket will be drawn. The second will raffle off another bike at the lemonade stand on June 7. The winning ticket will be drawn at 2 p.m. at the stand. The bikes were donated by Hale’s in Court House and Tuckahoe Bikes.
Also on June 7, there will be baskets with gift certificates and products and services like manicures raffled off.
