COURT HOUSE -- An alleged driving while intoxicated accident shattered the peace of a Sunday morning on Mechanic Street, according to Middle Township police.
At 6:36 a.m. on May 18, police received a call of a crash just west of their headquarters on Mechanic Street near Boyd Street intersection.
When officers arrived, they found that a vehicle had struck a parked vehicle in front of 103 Mechanic St.
Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Carly Kurkowski, 19, of Court House, was traveling west on Mechanic Street and struck the parked vehicle.
Witnesses advised that the Kurkowski vehicle was traveling west in the east bound lane of travel prior to the accident, causing other vehicles to swerve out of its way.
Kurkowski suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Rio Grande Rescue Squad.
Kurkowski was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated and other motor vehicle offenses.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. Michael Elias.

I like the written comment below:.......
"Underage drinking is definitely a problem in Middle Twp. In fact, its a problem all over the county. Officials should be more aware of these activities, so that next time no one is hurt"
Typical Democrat Response: like always, blame the cops!! How about the parents being more aware!! We have become a society of "Passing the Buck" Of course it's not that girls fault!! Society is to blame!!! Here's a tip, spell "DEFINITELY" correct next time!

The problem with kids underage drinking is horrible in CMC. And the sad part is that most of the times the kids get away with a slap on the wrist or something like that. I mean look at how many kids do it and get away with nothing.

I know this girl, I went to high school with this girl, and she is a really good friend, and I just send a prayer out there for her. God Bless her, and I'm glad tha she didn't hurt herself, or anyone else. This is really out of character for her, and right now she is devastated (like she should be). Take care Carly.

No mention of bail or if she was sent to the county jail...I smell preferential treatment. Will they charge whoever served her the alcohol? They should!

Back when I was a kid ( I thought that I would never repeat my parents words), I was working 2 jobs in high school and only got the car to run errands for my parents. These kids nowadays have no respect for their parents, authority, or themselves. My suspicion and past experience says that she just stayed over for a 'hookup' and was heading home or getting ready for work and she wasn't quite up to snuff. Either way, the signs don't look good for someone so young!
