Theres many ways to spell peoples name (ie Stephen, Steven) Just because you may not know the exact way to spell a firiends name, doesnt make them(or you) a lesser friend. Get a life!

Anyone notice that the postings purportedly by friends/family/co-workers spell the victim's name incorrectly?

Whatever happened to the saying "Don't let your "friends" drive drunk!
This is sad for everybody.

How sad this must be for all families. My question would be, why did the bride and groom let their friends drive that night if they were in front of them....they must have left the restaurant together.

It's a true shame this young lady lost her life so tragically. I feel sorry for the family and friends that are dealing with her lost. I also feel sorry for the bride & groom that witnesses the accident and then attempted to enjoy what should have been the happiest day of their lives. As for the establishment being responsible, how is the staff to know a persons BAC without blood tests or breathalizer? Ever notice the police have a certification to test people to see if they are over the limit, yet a bartender or server is supposed to know it by looking at someone! If a person does not appear to be intoxicated, there is only one way to tell, last time I checked bars don't do blood tests nor do they have breathalizers. As for the "TIPS" program, do you know that they don't use it or are you just assuming? Just about every bar in South Jersey uses "TIPS" or "TAM" for all their employees, so I'm sure they have some kind of training for their staff.

As one of the the people stated before. BOTH of these people ToGETHER got into this Car after drinking. Yes Only one person can drive but BOTH are ADUlts and KNOW what can happen once drinking gets put into the mix with Drving. My heart goes out to this girls famiy !! Both of these young people's had BAD JUDGEMENT!!!!! The man who survived does need not bars as long as he LIVES b/c his MIND will inprison HIM every single day he lives!!!!!! This is a sad case of Two ADULTS who made bad choices!!! Just so happens one person GOT LUCKY!!!!!!! Remember she got into the car two. The LAW will enforce the law and just punishment. To the girls family please find it in your heart to find peace and forgiveness in this senseless tragic accident.

Maybe the driver didn't seem drunk at the time. No one knows what his BAC was. He could have appeared fine when he left the resturant. I think that he should pay for his actions of killing an innocent young woman. He has to live with the fact that he did in fact kill someone and that her family and friends are suffering terribly because they lost someone that meant everything to them. His life will never be the same.
Like a previous comment that was left earlier, we have all been guilty of drinking and driving- we have all gotten into the car at some point when we shouldn't have. We have to forgive and move forward.
Megan will be missed- my thoughts and prayers go out to the family. God bless you!

Alcohol had little to do with this? Why was he charged with DWI? Talk about an enabler!

3:45pm, are you serious? Do you remember the case several years ago when a bartender served a waitress in Havertown and she wrecked? The bartender and an establishment is legally responsible when they serve a visably intoxicated person(s). Both the bar and the driver can be sued under criminal negligence and wrongful death. Your concept of drunk people being responsible at the same time is faulty and ludicrious at best. It is the sober establishment and its employees who should be responsible! Since I have worked in the bar business for 20 years, I know alittle something about this. That is why responsible establishments have a policy of calling cabs or to make sure a sober person will drive them home. Sometimes, even coffee or a cooling off period might be appropriate. The fact is this was a tragedy! Hopefully, this tragedy and her death will not be in vain. I hope the family sues the driver and the establishment who are ultimately responsible then goes on to an awareness program for drinkers and those that serve. It could be the mandating of the TIPS certification for all employees!

My heart goes out to this girls family. I lost a daughter in the same siuation 4yrs ago. There are so many emotions flying at this time. Anger is one of them, wanting to blame someone is another. But when it comes down to it, both the driver and passenger had free will to get into this car. Maybe the bar tender should have called them a cab. I'm sure this guy did not get into this car with the intentions of killing this girl. We never think it could happen to us until it does. All of the sudden your world is spinning so out of control you can't even think straight. You can't tell me that one time or another each and everyone of you did not drink and drive when you shouldn't have. It's only by the grace of God that you did not kill someone. So who are we to judge this young man? Let me tell you for everyone involved here, their lives WILL NEVER BE THE SAME! While this young man should be given the punishment due him, we should not be crucifying him. Let the person who is without flaw cast the first stone. And I assume there is no one throwing any stones at this time. No matter how much time this young man will serve in prison, he will always have to live with the fact that his actions caused the death of a young woman. It is so much easier to forgive then to harbor anger and animosity towards him. I chose to forgive the young man who killed my daughter. He went to a christian rehab program instead. And there was so much peace and love about my whole situation. I pray that this family will find the peace that I found during this tragedy. May God be with you.....

Alcohol had very little to do with this. He didn't buy that car to go slow. He had an open stretch late at night and went for it. It is nobody's fault but his own. I'm sure he realizes this, and her family will soon realize that suing everybody will never ease their pain. Pray for them... if it's in your religion.

Another note from Meghan's family...her death has impacted so many, many people. Just think a life cut short by irresponsible behavior. Families and extended families devistated by a chilling early morning phone call. A young step-sister just returning from overseas duty, planning to see Meghan next week for an upcoming wedding will never have the chance to hug her again. A grandmother not comprehending why it couldn't have been her instead. A mother, father, stepparents grieving from the shock. The siblings including a twin, who've lost a future with each other.
There is NO excuse for irresponsible behavior. How many others need to be killed because someone made a bad decision? He knowingly and willingly became intoxicated then got behind the wheel. The law should knowingly and willingly apply the justified punishment. No matter how sorry he may be, that will never bring back Meghan and the loss he has imposed on the family.

great guy or not, he will deserve every day he gets behind bars
Fri, 05/16/2008 - 3:45pm
WHY SHOULD THEY SUE THE BAR/RESTAURANT ITS NOT THEIR FAULT THE GUY WAS TOO INTOXICATED TO DRIVE HIM OR THE GIRL SHOULD OF BEEN MORE RESPONSIBLE

This is from the family...Meghan is my sister and we are all still in shock that this has happened. It is such a senseless tragedy and we are all devestated. My other sister Meghan's twin sister was set to get married in 3 weeks and this has over shadowed all upcoming events. Please pray for our family and sister, she was an amazing person who dedicated her life to helping others.

It is a shame that usually the driver walks away unscathed in DUI cases while the passengers pay with their lives. The woman's family should sue the crap out of the guy and any bar/restaurant that might be guilty!
