WILDWOOD — Nineteen local restaurants brought their best dishes to Neil’s Steak and Chowder House on May 14 for the Greater Wildwoods Chamber of Commerce 9th annual Restaurant Showcase.
Where else could you sample an executive chef carving station, homemade chowder, to tables of decadent desserts all within the same room?
Executive chefs and servers from the local eateries kept refilling plates and explaining signature dishes as most event attendees visited tables for seconds and thirds. This is one event where no one went home hungry.
Proceeds from the event fund scholarships for local high school seniors. Last year the chamber’s event raised approximately $10,000.
While this year’s totals are not calculated yet, the owners of the Fudge Kitchen got into the spirit of giving back by turning their 50-50 prize over to the 2008 scholarship recipients.
