SCHELLENGER LANDING –– On May 8 at approximately 6 p.m., Lower Township police detectives conducted an undercover surveillance of commercial fishing docks in the area of Wilson Avenue here.

Over the course of the surveillance suspicious activity was observed centered on a white Chevy that was in the area. As the Chevy left the area of the surveillance it was being driven in a very erratic manner.

Detective Chris Lambert followed the vehicle stopping it in the area of Ocean Drive and Route 109.

Further investigation resulted in the arrest of a passenger Channel R. Lawson, a 21-year-old black female from School Lane in Seabrook, New Jersey. Lawson was found to be in possession of approximately a quarter ounce of a substance believed to be crack cocaine, nine bags of a substance believed to be heroin, and approximately 40 grams of green vegetation believed to be marijuana.

Lawson was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana. She was placed in county jail in default of $25,000 cash bail.

Great Job! Lower Detectives are doing a wonderful job cleaning up the streets in Lower, maybe the other Police Departments in the county should watch and learn how it's done correctly.
