Final Indian Trail Hearing?

COURT HOUSE –– The Middle Township Zoning Board will meet May 15 at 7 p.m. for what could be the final hearing of a site plan application for a controversial mining operation and recycling facility proposal.

The applicant, Future Mining and Recycling, wants to construct its facility on a 253-acre wooded lot on Indian Trail Road in Burleigh.

Scores of environmentalists, neighbors and citizens have packed the meeting room at Township Hall for over a year to express concerns over the proposed development.

At the last meeting on April 10, board Chairman James McLaughling announced tomorrow night’s special hearing “in the hopes of concluding this matter.”

Why don't we consider this application when the host community benefits are settled?

It's always uplifting to see a mob of "concerned citizens" band together with other neighbors and hide behind the enviromental issue smoke screen. Why don't they just buy the property (neighbors and enviromental groups) and preserve it. NO - they want to tell someone who owns the property and has a legal right to do what was proposed how they should use the land.

Thank you Mr. Hart for reminding everyone to show up in support of our precious forest.

This situation should be a wake up call to all Middle residents as to what can happen to your property and quality of life. By supporting the Friends of Indian Trail you are supporting preserving your future.

But this is not only a quality of life property issue. This will impact our water supply. Committee says if it does we will build a desal plant. Who do you think will pay for that?

ONE HUNDRED ACRES of trees will be decimated and all the life in that area.

Let's hope the Zoning Board has the best interest of the people and the community at heart.
