COURT HOUSE – Voters in Middle Township, Woodbine, Sea Isle City and West Wildwood rejected their school districts’ on April 15.
In West Wildwood, the school budget of $1.1 million was tied Yes-No at 18 votes. The tie means a loss for the $1.22 million budget. West Wildwood does not operate a school, so the school budget funds tuition payments for the borough's 57 students who attend schools in neighboring North Wildwood and Wildwood. The next step if for the school board to take the budget before the Borough Commission, which can review the budget and make cuts.
In Middle Township, the $20.8-million budget was defeated by 12 votes.
Woodbine’s $1.28-million budget went down, 129-82.
In Sea Isle City, The $3.2-million budget received 433 no votes compared to 258 yes votes.
In contested board races:
Sea Isle City, candidates Ellen Ramsey, 538, Daniel Tumolo, 535, and Barbara Drew, 534 won three-year seats on school board. Others running were, Tara Kutschera, 431, Matthew McCallum, 427 and Steven Zellers, 409.
One, one-year seat, Valere Egnasko, 521, while Joseph LaRosa tallied 427.
Ocean City three three-year terms were won by Gregory Donahue, 959, Jay Gillian, 943 and Joseph Clark Jr., 868. Frances Bickel got 494 votes.
For a one-year unexpired term, Frank Faverzani got 816.
Woodbine’s apparent winners were Juan Rodriguez, 101, Miriam Vives-Rivera, 119 and Noel Turner, 104. Others were Hector Cruz, 55, Brandon Klein, 66, Gerald Murray, 100.

This is just so depressing. The children of Woodbine have so little. Now they can't even have a part time Art & Music teacher. What happened to no children left behind?
