Frank Cwik celebrates being a centenarian.

Frank’s family, friends and colleagues held a surprise party on the eve of his 100th birthday celebration preceding the weekly entertainment games Monday evening.

Born on Jan. 22, 1908, Frank spent his earlier years in Port Richmond, Phila. He attended schools in Camden. Frank owned a series of businesses along Broad Street in Philadelphia and retired in 1955.

A social member of Anglesea Fire Co. No. 1, and a member of Knights of Columbus since 1963, Frank volunteered with the North Wildwood Rescue Squad, until the squad turned over operations to the fire company.

On behalf of Mayor Bill Henfey, City Councilman Robert McCullion presented Cwik with a congratulatory plaque upon his reaching 100 and his community involvement. Congressional congratulations were sent by Congressman Frank LoBiondo, a congratulatory letter is expected from President Bush, and the American Flag flew over the Capitol Building in Washington, DC Jan.22, in Frank’s honor, with a cased presentation to follow, a gift for Frank from the members of the fire company.

Frank thanked all who helped make his birthday so enjoyable.
