Celebrate Valentine's Day with someone you love in the aquarium at the Wetlands Institute. This adults-only evening includes wine, chocolates, oysters - and the wild and wacky world of whoopee in the water. You'll laugh, you'll blush and you won't believe what some of these animals are doing behind closed doors! It's Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and reservations are needed by Feb. 13. Cost is $7 members and $10 nonmembers. Call 368-1211

Road Scholars outing Jan. 26
January is mating season for owls and on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 3:30 p.m. Tony Geiger will take the Wetlands Institute’s Road Scholars on an Owl Prowl. Head into the woods in search of owls as you look and listen for great horned, barred, and screech owls in the big woods of the Villas Wildlife Management Area. Cost is $3 members; $5 nonmembers. The prowl is 3:30 to 6 p.m.
Reservations needed by Jan. 25. Call 368-1211.

There’s also Birding with Tony on Sundays at 8 a.m. through March 16. Meet in the Wetlands Institute parking lot. A $2 donation is requested.

Wetlands Institute’s covered dish dinner Jan. 25
The Pine Barrens are a treasure trove of botanical rarities and fascinating wildlife. Join photographer Michael Hogan for a covered dish dinner and program, Pinelands Journey, on Friday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Wetlands Institute. The program will provide ah look at some of the flora and fauna of our own backyards and autographed copies of Hogan’s beautiful book Natural Wonders of the Jersey Pines and Shore will be available. Cost is $10 nonmembers, $5 members plus a covered dish. Call 609-368-1211 by Jan. 24 for reservations.

Aquarium Feedings
The octopus at the Wetlands Institute has learned to open Tupperware to get to the crab inside – honest! Stop by during aquarium feedings and see this talented critter or watch the turtles chasing minnows and the horseshoe crab gobbling shrimp on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. It’s free with general admission; members are free.

Yoga at Wetlands Institute
