SWAINTON - Some thought autumn would miss Cape May County entirely this year. They were wrong, the fall profusion of colored leaves happened later than usual.
A popular place to drink in nature's palette is the Cape May County Park on Route 9.
There, the variety of arboreal colors provides a backdrop for waterfowl gliding across the placid pond surface in search of food.
After some rain and wind, those delicate colored leaves will fall, and the somber shades of a winter woodland will reign until spring.
