The Cape May Wine Festival will launch a brand new wine festival for the Garden State Wine Growers Association (GSWGA), a member organization of 28 wineries located across the state.

This new wine festival will be held Oct. 6 and 7 in a grassy field overlooking the ocean at the historic Cape May-Lewes Ferry (www.capemaylewesferry.com). The site is surrounded on every side by water, its serenity marked only by the arrival and departure of the ferries.

Guests can sit and taste wine as ships port or stand at the Point of Cape May and look out at the scenery. People may also walk along the waterfront and boardwalk. The wine festival is being held during Victorian Week for added enjoyment of the Cape May area.

The Cape May Wine Festival will feature hundreds of award-winning New Jersey wines and an array of great food such as crabcakes and oysters on the half-shell. Admission is $20 and includes tastings of as many as 200 varieties of top–quality wines. Gates open at 11:30 and wine tasting will be available from noon until 5 p.m. both days, rain or shine. The festival will feature music by Simon Apple and Kato.

Artisan vendors and crafters will be selling hand made products, wine related items and other quality goods. There will be kids activities including arts & crafts, face painting and games. Discount advance sale tickets are available online at (www.newjerseywines.com) and group discounts are available by calling 758-5400.
