The Cape May County Library is pleased to offer “Dynamic Resumes: What You Need to Get the Job”.

Under the tutelage of Cape May County librarian Lisa Marie Alderfer tips on layout, style, and technique for cover letters and resumes are offered. A strong resume provides a clear focus and direction to your employment history. The first class covers how to create a well prepared, easy to read, and eye catching job history. In the second class, cover letters and resumes, created individually during the week, will be appraised and constructive guidance will be offered. Creating a powerful resume is one of the first steps to job search success.

The class requires no books or material; however, participants must be familiar with Microsoft Word 2003 and/or 2007 as this class focuses on creating contents, not providing lessons in word processing.

Lisa Alderfer is the Systems Librarian for the Cape May County Library and an Adjunct English Instructor for Atlantic Cape Community College. Alderfer received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Temple University and a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Recently Alderfer produced a commercial for the New Jersey State Library for which she won a prestigious award.
