William Shakespeare, an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s preeminent dramatist. He is often called England’s national poet and the “Bard of Avon.” Whether you are familiar with his work, or would like to learn more, join in the reading of As You Like It, one of Shakespeare’s most glorious plays, with the enchanting Rosalind as she flees to the forest of Arden. Become acquainted with “The Bard” and his magical plays, and discover what most appeals to his readers.
Lorinda Desrosiers is a retired high school English teacher. Desrosiers taught Shakespeare at the Cape May County Art League and the Cape May County Technical High School’s Adult Program. She holds a B.A. in English and a Masters in Education.
The program is for ages 14 and up. Registration and a valid library card are required. Upon registration a $6 fee is required for a copy of the book As You Like It.
