Soprano Diana Petras and bass-baritone Grant Mech, accompanied by pianist Akiko Hosaki, will present a recital of songs by Erich Korngold, Paul Bowles, Libby Larsen, Richard Hundley on January 10, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church 157 Shore Rd Somers Point, NJ 08540. Soprano Diana Petras is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, specializing in contemporary American Art Song and Opera. Ms. Petras' most recent stage credits include La Ciesca in Gianni Schicci, Monica in The Medium, and Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre.
In the summer of 2008, bass-baritone Grant Mech returned to Opera New Jersey as a member of the company’s Studio Artist Program. This spring, Mr. Mech will also appear with Boheme Opera and the New York Opera Forum.
A native of Osaka, Japan, pianist Akiko Hosaki holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and the University of Minnesota (Doctor of Music in Collaborative Piano and Coaching). In 1998, Ms. Hosaki was the recipient of the Vocal Accompanying Fellowship from the Tanglewood Music Center.
