Delaware Bay Lighthouse Adventure

08/24/2008 to 08/29/2008

Price: $99

Board the Cape May Whale Watcher for the remaining Delaware Bay Lighthouse Adventures on Sunday, Aug. 24 and Sunday, Sept. 20. During these seven-hour voyages of discovery and adventure up the Delaware Bay, tourgoers will have the opportunity to see and photograph historic lighthouses that were built during the late 19th and early part of the 20th centuries to aid ships sailing the treacherous mid-channel of the Delaware Bay. Most of these lighthouses stand on pedestals out of sight from land, but are still operational and viewable by boat. Each cruise not only offers superb lighthouse viewing and photo opportunities, but also includes narration on Delaware Bay lore and legend, and information on fishing, spawning grounds and more. Enjoy complimentary coffee and Danish in the morning, and a lavish cold luncheon with shrimp, finger sandwiches, cheese and fruit trays, and dessert, as well as a cash bar in the afternoon. The Cape May Whale Watcher departs from the Miss Chris Marina, Second Avenue and Wilson Drive, at 10 a.m. Admission is $99 per person and seating is limited to 175 passengers. If a cruise is not sold out in advance, the remaining tickets will be sold at the dock 30 minutes before departure. Free parking is available at the marina. The Delaware Bay Lighthouse Adventure is co-sponsored by the Cape May Whale Watcher and the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC). The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of Cape May’s heritage. MAC also fosters the performing arts. MAC membership is open to all.
