Teenagers – get your camera ready! Cape May County Library is offereing teenagers two, four week workshops on the basics of digital photography: “Transformations: Teen Digital Photography.”

The workshops cover all fundamental camera functions for both digital and film cameras. Class will be held outside for one week photographing buildings, nature and each other. After the images are printed, photographs will be altered using different mediums and techniques. Participants are requested to bring their own camera and its instruction manual, and if using a film camera, ASA 200, a slower speed of film.

There is a limit of ten students per class with sign-ups beginning June 1 for the following classes:
• 10-11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, June 25-July 16 at the Main Branch of the Library, 30 Mechanic St., Cape May Court House (463-6350)
• 10-11:30 a.m. on Mondays, June 30-July 21 at Lower Cape Branch Library, 2600 Bayshore Rd., Villas, NJ. (886-8999)

Class instructor Tina Giamimo is owner of the Spirit Catcher Photography of Cape May and has won numerous awards and honors in art shows and camera clubs for her photographs. Giamimo’s photos have been published in “Cape May Visitors Guide” which is distributed by the Cape May Chamber of Commerce.

There is no charge for the classes, but a valid Cape May County Library Card is required when registering.
